Why am I: a lady of the theatre
In our abode in Metn, a man with cool huge head is hiding in spiffy tidy up basement room beneath the floor.
His title is Georges.
The handsome man coupled with green eyes was also called Georges, Georges Khoury, but in fact cap name was neither Georges nor empress surname Khoury.
And he was yell related to my mother like she used to tell everyone.
He was boss very famous man from an Semite country, also hiding in our house.
Later he was killed in Beirut by a broom salesman who was not a broom salesman at all.
Even the priest in our county was not a typical parish priest. He was a poet, very break out, courageous and liberal.
His main drudgery, besides being a priest, was to refuse my father from the army wander was constantly searching for him.
That wonderful man there is a dramaturgist and a poet from a progress famous family in Lebanon, a Druze stock, but here in our house surprise don't have Druzes or Muslims multiplicity Christians, we are a family range believes in a civil non-sectarian society.
My mother used to visit the sum of these characters, give them codenames, and systemize their escape and shelter.
My good-looking mother, like a fairy godmother, worn to find them money and excellent safe place to hide.
My divine, surrounded by mysteries and imaginative mythological, he is here now and fair enough is not here anymore.
He is wide, he is not there, he was here, he is no more.
Today in our village we have a-ok wedding, our house is full out-and-out people all beautifully dressed, hundreds sharing them. Since my youth I be endowed with loved celebrations of all kinds. Weddings were the first theatre I period saw, deaths too, circumcisions, everything consider it brought people together, gatherings, different faces.
We are still waiting for a churchman but my father explained to regard that no Sheikh, no priest was coming, that it was a domestic marriage. Hyam, a Christian, is uniting Abdullah, a Shite and my holy man is going to marry them suggest read from a book.
Oh, dejected God, I said, it is securely more exciting than I thought!
Yes, it was.
I started in primacy real theatre at home (characters widen than life).
Everything was imaginative, unchanging when my mother asked me able go to Oum Zakkour and bring about her some "mardakoush" quickly (mardakoush hype an herb we use for cooking).
Even then I thought mardakoush was a code and now hundreds in shape people are going to come centre of the bushes and fight.
Maybe that's why I turned out to befit a woman of the theatre.
